| Many young people across Kent and Medway have benefited from having an independent visitor. Here are two young people who share their stories: |
Daniel's Story |
|
Daniel has had an independent visitor for 3 years and thoroughly enjoys the time they spend together. Daniel plays tennis and football with his visitor and also like writing stories and then filming them using a video camera. Daniel has really benefited from the time he has had with his visitor. He has improved some skills he needs for school by practicing them with his visitor. Daniel is really happy to know that his visitor is there for him if he needs to unwind and get things off his chest. |
| Daniel says, " I really enjoy spending time with my visitor, playing games and visiting fun places. It is really nice to have somebody who visits me, as I have not really had anyone special like that before." |

Emma's Story: |
Emma was with her independent visitor for 5 years and it made a world of difference to her. They spent some quality time together, enjoying activities such as swimming, bowling and going to the cinema. Emma's independent visitor helped with practical things such as moving house and learning to live on her own as well as offering emotional support. |
| Emma says, "Having an independent visitor has been really good for me. We have so much fun and although I may only see her twice a month, I know she is there for me when I need her." |
